I'm from Minas Gerais Brazil

Minas Gerais is the fourth largest state in Brazil, with 586,624 Km2, an area larger than France and Belgium combined. More than half of its territory lies at altitudes higher than 600m. The people of Minas are closely tied to the mountains that surround them, and these 'mineiros' are considered to be self-reliant, contemplative, introspective and yet welcoming.
The state is also famous for it's food: simple, different, and of course, delicious. To give a few examples: lombinho de porco assado, o tutu de feijao com torresmo e linguica, o feijao tropeiro com couve refogada, a galinha ao molho pardo... And not to forget other delicacies such as: queijo de minas, broa de milho, doce de leite... Rich, traditional, historic: that is the cuisine of Minas, and its recipes can be traced back hundreds of years.
This is one of my favorite places.

The Food of Minas Gerais ,Brazil

The food of Minas Gerais is more than a group of delicacies: it has the taste of human warmth, of wisdom, of simplicity. It is artistic. It has the taste of an unforgettable pleasure. And for those who were born there and are away like myself, it tastes like home. The food of Minas Gerais is one of my favorite things.

It has a distinctive whitish crust, which cracks to reveal a golden-brown crumb. Corn, a hardy grain, is combined with wheat flour in varying proportions.
